These are among the hardest basses to find these days and I was fortunate to find this one tucked away in a 'secret stash'. This is NOT one of the fairly common Cort Curbow basses popular for the past 25 years although those are fine basses in their own right. Totally hand-crafted by Greg Curbow in his USA shop, this is the 42nd one made in 1994 and certainly one of the more unique designs ever, The body is only 1 1/2" thick and tapers to almost a knife-edge at each side. The small body makes them very easy to play and offsets the weight of the denser tone woods preferred by Greg Curbow. Sadly, he passed away in 2005 so his basses are quite sought after. This one has a zebrawood top and a wenge back with a rockwood neck that has no dead spots at all. Two Bartolini soapbar pickups and the original epoxy-sealed 9-volt preamp with volume, pan & 3-band EQ along with black Hipshot bridge & Sperzel tuners. Very compact 8 lb weight and includes the original Curbow signature tolex hard case with plush formfit interior.
